I'm not very athletic or co-ordinated, will I be able to do pole?
At Spin City Exeter we welcome everyone - regardless of dance experience, athletic ability or fitness level. Being able to support your body weight and having a little coordination will help, but these are the skills you will learn and develop during your classes. Everybody learns in different ways and at different speeds; Spin City Exeter helps to provide an inclusive atmosphere to learn in, where you can develop your own individual style of pole.

What should I wear/bring?
Bare arms and legs are essential to grip the pole, so we recommend that you wear shorts and a t-shirt or vest top, with bare feet. Please try not to moisturise, or use any oils or lotions on the day of your class as this can affect your skin's ability to grip to the pole. If you prefer you will be able to wear leggings on your first class, although this will mean you won't get as much grip.

Where is Spin City?
There are four Spin City branches in the UK. Spin City Exeter is based in Studio 2 at Exeter Phoenix on Gandy Street. If you are looking for Spin City Bristol, Brimpton or Newbury, please visit www.spincitypolefitness.com for more information.

Where can I park?
Unfortunately Exeter Phoenix does not have onsite customer parking, however after 6pm there is plenty of free on street parking on Queen Street or nearby multi storey car parks. Please allow plenty of time to find a parking space, just in case!

How long are your classes?
All our regular pole classes are 60-75 minutes long. We also run 60-90 minute practice sessions and professional masterclasses which can vary between 90 minutes and two hours.

What can I do to prepare?
Anyone can come along to our classes, regardless of weight, strength and athletic ability, however if you want to progress faster than the average student you may find it beneficial to take up some additional fitness activities that can compliment pole, by building your arm strength and abdominal muscles. Yoga, Pilates and Body Balance are other complimentary classes that you might be interested in attending.
